GPRS
Overview
GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) is a wireless data communication service which utilizes GSM and CDMA technology system.
GPRS is a perfect solution for connecting head office to branch office through reliable transmission facility. GPRS network is suitable for data communication applications less than 32 Kbps from head office to branch office such as ATM, Payment Point, credit card authorization, Point-of-Sales (PoS), Text Message (SMS) and others.
Specifications
GPRS system is an enhancement from GSM and CDMA system for data transmission based on Internet protocol (IP). The data transfer for GSM can reach 9.6 Kbps (kilo bytes per second) while for CDMA is ranging from 55 to 155 Kbps.
